May 24, 2006 - Governor Doyle Announces More than $50,000 to Help United Alloy in Janesville Expand, Create Jobs
JANESVILLE – Governor Jim Doyle today announced that United Alloy in Janesville will receive a $50,580 Customized Labor Training (CLT) grant award for a project that will train seven current and 17 new employees on new metal fabrication technologies. Lt. Governor Barbara Lawton made the announcement on behalf of the Governor at a news conference today at United Alloy.
“At the heart of my Affordability Agenda is a commitment to creating good jobs and growing the economy of our state,” Governor Doyle said. “We are doing this by advancing technology, providing training, promoting trade and supporting new investment in Wisconsin. And I am pleased we could help United Alloy create these good-paying jobs for Wisconsin families.”
United Alloy, Inc. specializes in producing fabricated metal parts and components for a variety of national companies.
Administered by the Wisconsin Department of Commerce, the CLT program is designed to assist companies who want to invest in new technologies, or manufacturing processes by providing a grant of up to 50% of the cost of training employees on those new technologies. The program, administered by the Wisconsin Department of Commerce, helps Wisconsin manufacturers maintain a workforce that is on the cutting edge of technological innovation.
